Forever Living Products has formulated a superior nutritional supplement to take advantage of the latest research into this important area of nutrition. By combining Omega-3 with Omega-9, it provides a safe and balanced supplement that can favorably support healthy blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels...

The benefits of omega-3

The benefits of omega-3 start before birth as they pass across the placenta to the baby. Studies show, however, that this transfer of the essential fatty acids may be interrupted if the mother consumes trans fats. This is one of the many reasons why we need to avoid these fats that occur when some vegetable oils are hardened for use in biscuits, spreads, pastries and many snack foods.
Children also need other nutrients for the development and functioning of their brains. Iodine is one and recent studies show that low levels of iodine are now appearing in pregnant women and young children. All seafood contains iodine, so eating two fish meals a week benefits the brain in several ways.

Salt source

Iodised salt is also a source of iodine, but consuming too much salt during childhood can lead to high blood pressure as an adult. The solution may be to make it compulsory that the salt used in products like bread and breakfast cereals should be iodised. This could reduce iodine deficiency.

Iron intake

Iron is also important for the brain. Babies get enough iron from breast milk or formula for the first six months, but foods become important sources after that. Meats of all kinds, chicken and seafood contain Haem iron which is well absorbed. The iron in green vegetables, wholemeal bread, cereals, eggs and legumes isn't absorbed as well, but it is a valuable addition to the diet. Adding even a small amount of meat, fish or chicken increases the amount of iron that is absorbed from vegetables or foods made from grains, such as pasta. The natural vitamin C in fruits and vegetables also increases iron absorption and this is a major reason for including these foods at each meal
